Well the 10 Plagues of Christmas sounds like a good idea for a new carol, 'round here...

Strep, the gift that keeps on giving!
Yes, first Monkey1 came down with Strep. Yesterday I woke up with some sinus drainage, making things uncomfortable, and then last night, during my birthday dinner, Monkey2 got to feeling cruddy, fever, tired, nausea, sore throat....

So off to the doctors offices today we went! Me first, for a previously scheduled visit...where I tested positive for Strep. My old childhood nemesis. I sucked it up, and got the shot, right then. No messing around with oral meds for me!

Then off to the other dr for Monkey2. Where he tested...negative so far, for strep. But the doc still suspects strep since 2 of us already are known positives, and he has most of the symptoms. So he gets 10 days of orals...I was hoping for the shot, to just be done with it, but no. His doc says the shot for kids isn't as effective, plus if it ISN'T strep, the shot would make him have a rash, if say, it was Mono instead...

On the first day of Christmas, my children gave to me...the oldest one sick with strep.
On the second day of Christmas, my children gave to me a child with strep-like symptoms.
On the third day of Christmas, my children gave to me, my very own case of strep!
On the 4th day of Christmas, my children gave to me, a husband who is also sick....

May you all have a very Merry, Plague-free Christmas!

A new Christmas Carol for the season...

No Christmas Tree, No Christmas Tree,
The children are still fighting!
They fight when summer days are bright,
They fight when winter snow is white.
No Christmas Tree, No Christmas Tree,
The children are still fighting!

No Christmas Tree, No Christmas Tree,
No Christmas Tree or presents!
How oft at Christmas tide they whine,
O Lord, I need a drink of wine!
No Christmas Tree, No Christmas Tree,
No Christmas Tree or presents!

No Christmas Tree, No Christmas Tree,
Forever children squabbling.
Your voices shout in the daytime.
I’m going deaf, by night time.
No Christmas Tree, No Christmas Tree
No Christmas Tree or presents!

No Christmas Tree, No Christmas Tree,
Another mess they made today..
Pushed my last button, they have done
I need a cave, to hide away.
No Christmas Tree, No Christmas Tree
No Christmas Tree or presents!

That is all for now.
